The Valley Schools Employee Benefits Trust (VSEBT) recently teamed up with ING to offer a stunning new array of very low cost group life insurance plans, both basic and additional life insurance. Along with life insurance coverage, members of VSEBT and their covered family members can receive free travel assistance. Here is a copy of the brochure:
When traveling more than 100 miles from home, ING Travel Assistance offers you and your dependents four types of services: Pre-Trip Information, Emergency Personal Services, Medical
Assistance Services, and Emergency Transportation Services.
It is important for individuals to be informed about these services. I personally know of a case where a person was sick in South America during a cruise. The coverage allowed them to get hospital care, a place to stay, an interpreter, and money to get home after treatment. Even ahead of time, knowing the requirements for travel under pre-trip information can be very valuable. Do you need a passport, immunizations, other things to travel? How do you get them?
No one expects to have problems while traveling, but when you do, they can do more than ruin your trip. They can leave you stranded, or worse, in jail or needing medical help not knowing who to call. Kudos to VSEBT and ING for providing these options to their enrolled members.
