Dr. Elliot Gory, Psychologist J.O. Combs USD received the Keith Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award

Dr. Elliot Gory, Psychologist at the J.O. Combs Unified School District received the Keith Perkins Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona Association of School Psychologists at their annual conference on October 25, 2013. Dr. Gory has been the lead psychologist on the Preschool Evaluation Team at Combs for the past five years and served in the Tempe Elementary District for 35 years prior to that.
During his career, Dr. Gory has evaluated over 3,000 students. Dr. Gory’s expertise is with preschool children and the low incidence, multiply disabled population. His knowledge of the characteristics of children with blindness, autism and severe intellectual disabilities is a particular strength. Dr. Gory has been an adjunct professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU) for many years. Additionally, he has been a guest presenter in several NAU graduate classes. In the J.O. Combs District, Dr. Gory supervises the school psychologist interns and is a mentor to the district’s other psychologists. J.O. Combs is proud to have Dr. Gory as an integral part of the Special Education Team.
